Man, I miss Midnight. She didn’t have to die, right?
I've already talked about about Midnight's death, but man, is this something that still feels worth talking about this far on.
Tumblr media
No, Midnight didn't have to die. I know I harped on this point before, but it bears repeating, especially now that the series is coming to an end. And during that time, the effects of Midnight and her death are not felt. To me, a good death should have an impact and have consequences, either for the world or the characters. I've already complained about Midnight's lack of relevance to the main story to make her death impactful. The context of her death is very underwhelming as well. There isn't any last hurrah, silent recognition, or even an appropriate conclusion to her character. She dies off screen with little fanfare. Once she dies, there is nothing. She's only mentioned once or twice by the students, and that's it. There is nothing about how any of the characters feel about her being gone or are really given any time to think about her. There's isn't even anything with Aizawa, Hizashi, or Oboro, her friends and colleagues since high school. I know Hori can do better. Just take Sir Nighteye, for example. He was around less than Midnight and his death was handled extremely well.
I still struggle to think about why Hori did this. My only guess is that he needed to even out the deaths, as everyone on the heroes' side of the conflict in this is either too important to die or too small for character to matter. Midnight was in the middle of being recognizable enough but not important enough to anything going on to keep her around. Which is weird because Gran Torino is right there. The guy who already served his purpose has a far greater standing with the audience and was seemingly exploded by Tomura. And if it's to motivate the other students, I don't buy that either. Not only because she has barely been mentioned since her death, her dying to motivate them isn't necessary. Call me crazy, but I feel like stopping Gigantomachia is already enough of a point of guilt and trauma for them. They failed, and because of that, Gigantomachia killed countless people and was a catalyst for so many heroes quitting. There's also a far more relevant motivation later with Izuku. You can say that they felt like that failed Izuku, their friend, and that he's the one suffering the most out of everyone. So go with those. Emphasizing that part of it would be a lot more relevant to the themes of the series and how their generation is the one to try and change that.

aideku with the one of your eyes is there eyes until you meet and they switch so you have both of your eyes
Izuku's eye went red sometimes as a child. They thought it was because of his soulmate. Izuku would learn they were right, when he met Aizawa Shouta and their eyes swapped. It latched them on to one another to. Both Gen Ed kids aiming for heroics, scheming and plotting with the best of them. Getting in had felt like a dream but they did it. They were in, and they were going to be heroes, the both of them.
Izuku just didn't expect to get his black eye back. Not ever. He screamed upon realizing it, running to demand answers from their friends.
Oboro couldn't look him in the eyes. Hizashi sobbed. Nemuri whimpered.
Shouta was gone. Izuku drifted.
He pulled himself together and landed a job at UA. He worked with his friends again, and he always talked to the kids about the shock of losing a soulmate. He showed pictures of him and Shouta.
"Never think this is a safe career. Never think that you're invincible. Always be aware." were his words to them.
Izuku's eye hadn't gone red in years. He kept the black one.
So why did it vanish and change back to green upon seeing a monster in the USJ?

Things you hate about Hori's writing?
Before we begin, I want to state that I don’t think Hori is a bad writer. I think he has strengths and weaknesses like all writers. I also know that Hori is under a lot of pressure from fans, his editor, publishers, and whoever else is involved with making a manga. I’m also aware that writing a manga is different than book writing, which is what I’m trying to study, so I may not understand a few things. Plus, Hori is under a time crunch which may affect his writing.
That being said, I was asked what I don’t like about his writing, so;
Notes:
*BNHA Critical
*Anti-Shigaraki (mainly how he's written and handled storywise.)
*Take it with a grain of salt
*Keep in mind that these will be writing elements only, not how I feel about characters.
Also, keep in mind that BNHA is a LONG series, so please be polite in your corrections if you feel there's a mistake. Also, the post is a bit rambly, so if you would like me to clarify something I said, let me know.
1: Lack of Build up.
*Now, not everything needs to be built up in a story, however, if it plays an important role, story or character-wise, then it has to.
This especially failed with Midnight, which pissed me off because Hori showed he could do death a scene right with Twice! Twice was built up as a person, we saw his connections with people, we saw him fighting for what he believed in, and we saw him die. We got none of that with Midnight. To anyone who only read the main manga, did you know she was high school friends with Aizawa and Hizashi and that she took in a kitten they found? And that SHE was the one who pushed Aizawa into his teaching job? No, you didn’t. Because Hori failed to tell us that. Also, Hori failed to build Midnight up as a person, show us what she loved, skipped her death scene, and yet expects to get the same emotional payoff as Twice.
2: Not allowing us to learn more about Class 1-A and seeing their internal struggles.
*I hate the LoV but I understand why others may connect with them. One of the reasons is that we get to see their inner thoughts and feeling and learn about their past and why they’re the way they are. With Class 1-A we don’t know over half the class. What do I mean by that?
Why are they heroes? Tenya wants to be like his brother, Izuku wants to be like All Might, and Ochako wants money for her family and just likes helping people. But what about Toru? Why does she want to be a hero? How did she get in? And so on. What are the students' morals? They believe in protecting people, but what else? Are they chaotic? Lawful? Neutral? What? And what are their struggles? Etc.
Why is all of this important, and why is it a writing failure? Because we need this stuff to care about the characters. This is especially important in the climax where we’re supposed to be rooting for the heroes, but instead, most aren’t. Why? Because we never got to get to know them.
3: Important information is in side materials
*Most of the development of Class 1-A is in Team Up Missions and school briefs where the canon is questionable as they’re written by different authors. But the worst offense is having Aizawa’s backstory in BNHA:V. Why? Because the payoff for that backstory is in the main series. Aizawa’s backstory has no emotional weight and feels out of place in BNHA:V. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t have been the main story. It could have been slipped in while Aizawa and Hizashi are driving to see Kurogiri. This is especially important as it tells the audience of the main series who Oboro is and why he’s important. As of now, without reading the other series, he’s just a few images where he barely talks.
For it is a huge writing failure on the writer's part if I have to buy DLC or go to side materials to get the complete story as those are supposed to add, not fill in plot holes and such.
4: Everything is being shoved into the final climax
*In the climax where everything is supposed to come to a head, we are dealing with the backstories of several characters, plot points that barely showed up, several "twists" and more, making the fight longer than a DBZ battle. Not only does this stretch things out to the point of boredom where everyone is just like, "get on with it!" but it also fails to give us and the story time to build on these points, most of which are important. To be fair, I don't think this is Hori's fault, as he's being pushed to wrap things up if the rumors are correct.
5: Shiggy barely does anything
*Shiggy is the main villain of the series. He’s on the posters, the covers, in the theme song, etc.
Yet he doesn’t do a thing to push the plot and Izuku’s arc till the end. And even then, AFO’s does most of the work. No, really; after the USJ arc and before the hospital arc, how does Shiggy influence the plot?
He released two Nomus after meeting Stain. Okay. What role does that play in the plot or on Izuku? None. You can take that out and it wouldn’t change the story except for a scene or two. Shiggy “talks” with Izuku at the mall? What’s the effect there? Well, it has them change the campsite but again, that changes nothing as far as the story goes, nor does it push the plot. And Izuku? Again, no change. Shiggy orders Izuku’s death? See above. The scene with Bakagou? Put anyone there, and it would have been the same. And as soon as the heroes show up, it becomes about AFO.
And once AFO is arrested? Overhaul becomes the villain and—correct me if I’m wrong—the other league members play a bigger role than him. And none of his actions affect the plot that much. Like, do the member of the league do anything that Overhaul’s minions couldn’t do? And again, the effect on Izuku, the protagonist; zero.
It isn’t until Giran is captured that Shiggy does something to push the plot forward and that’s defeating Re-Destructo and having the MLA join him. After that? He goes to sleep so he can get a makeover! (Which, to be fair, paid off as his hair becomes nice and fluffy, but still.)
It’s not until the hospital raid that Shiggy not only moves the plot forward AND affects Izuku. And then, almost immediately, AFO takes over. Even in the current arc, I’m not sure if it’s Shiggy fighting or AFO. The most he did was in the USJ arc, and even then, it was the NOMU that affected the characters and plot. True, Shiggy nearly kills Tsuyu and figures out Aizawa's trick, but he's not the one who leaves the damage on Aizawa that persist throughout the series or lessens All Might's time. It's the Nomu. He crushes Aizawa's face and the rest of his body, then stands enough of a threat against All Might that he has to push past his limit. And both these actions affect the plot of the story. None of Shiggy's actions do.
In Inuyasha we barely saw Naraku, however, you can’t take him out of the story and replace him with someone else. Why? Because the story wouldn’t have happened without Naraku being Naraku. Without him, Kikyo wouldn’t have died nor would the drama between her and Inuyasha. (Not to mention the drama with the rest of the party.) The point is that if Naraku vanished from Inuyasha the whole story would fall apart.
That’s not the case with Shiggy. Anyone could have led the attack on USJ and had the same effect on the story and the characters. Anyone could have been possessed by AFO and triggered Izuku’s need to save them. Anyone could be Nana’s grandson and the effect would be the same. And, as Shiggy is the poster villain for MHA, this is the greatest writing failure of MHA. Why? Because a villain's role is to push the plot and the hero's arc forward.
Hell, Overhaul is only around for one arc, and he affects the story more than Shiggy;
Overhaul's actions caused Izuku to force himself to grow to help Eri, then showed Izuku that defeating a villain isn't enough to save someone as Eri was still traumatized. Mirio lost his quirk, prompting a sense of guilt in Izuku but determination in Eri so she could help him. The bullets Overhaul made come back and cripple Aizawa to the point he has to depend on others. Night eye is killed by him and dies in Ochako's arms, forcing her to rethink her career and install an intense need to save others so no one dies on her watch again. And so on.
And as for AFO, just like Naraku, the story wouldn't exist without him. Without him, there would be no OFA, All Might's backstory wouldn't have happened, all the nomu plots wouldn't exist, and Shiggy would have nothing. Everything Shiggy has isn't through his own strength but through AFO.
The point is that AFO and Overhaul cannot be removed or replaced by another to make the story function. Shiggy can, and to me, that is a huge failure.
Special mentions; (these are more opinion based)
1: Wasted concepts
*Hori has a bunch of good ideas but due to time constraints or overwhelming himself, Hori rarely follows through or explores the full potential.
The biggest example is the Nomus. I stated this in another post but I’ll copy it here;
“The Nomus are the ones that carry the threat and the emotional impact for the main cast. Kurogiri connects to Aizawa and shows that AFO has not only been stealing corpses but has been eyeing UA students especially, which connects to UA. And the Bat Nomu is a personal connection to Izuku and Bakagou, who are both major players. And we know Dabi’s connection to the plot.”
Because the Nomus are mostly made of dead people, this could have a huge impact on the cast. Forget about Shiggy, if AFO really wanted to get back at All Might he should have used Nana’s corpse in some way. That would have shaken him up and hurt him and the audience more than some kid All Might met once. Plus, the nomus aren’t just dead people, they’re living people that were experimented on. Think of how that raises the stakes for the heroes as they’re not just fighting villains, they’re fighting innocent people who were kidnapped and brainwashed. And every time a hero dies they can end up as one of those monsters. Again, the emotional stakes are raised.
This is especially important for Izuku. Even if the bat nomu disappeared after one arc he would still have made an impact on the story if he had faced Izuku and been revealed who he was. Why? Because he was someone Izuku knew. A bully, yes, but still someone Izuku knew. And AFO turned him into a monster. This gives Izuku a personal reason to fight and train harder while introducing him to the kind of person AFO was. Whether Bat Nomu died or was captured, there’s a personal stake for Izuku.
I could go on, but this post is already gonna be long. The gist is that we got the bare minimum with them and it’s a shame.
But it’s not just the Nomus, there’s also Stain. They introduced a cool villain with a decent concept and half a leg to stand on, but they lock him up right away and don’t bother with him again for over two hundred chapters. And even then he does ONE thing, then vanishes.
There are also a ton of wasted characters like over half the class of 1-A, The UA teachers, the quirkless, the MLA, and Sir Night Eye.
Now to balance this, here’s what I like about Hori’s writing;
1: Decent Concepts *While he doesn’t always explore them very well, Hori does put out fun concepts that fanfic writers myself have fun with.
2: The creative use of Quirks *When Hori shows us the quirks he’s very creative in their uses which is cool to see. And there’s a lot of science and research behind them that I’m discovering.
3: The Characters *Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Hori creates a lot of interesting characters, a majority that people want to learn about. (Shame we don’t but I digress.) (Plus most of the designs are creative.)
4: All Might’s character and arc *Nearly everything about All Might is perfect from a story perspective. Almost everything about how All Might is written is done absolutely well.
5: The setup *The stage Hori set up is very interesting and I like it. I like the premise, the setting, the characters, and more.
6: The Art *I like most of Hori’s designs as they’re nice-looking and creative. Most of the costumes are fun as well. (I love Ochako's hero costume! As well as Stars and Stripes'.)
7: Subtle scenes *This is mainly shown in the beginning, but many small scenes carry many character and story elements without it being overly obvious. But I talked about them in my chapter reviews, so I won't repeat myself.
And that's it! Feel free to share what you like or dislike about Hori's writing elements.

One day at a time.
-

The blue-haired boy pauses, studies his hand uncertainly before shrugging. “Shirakumo Oboro,” he introduces in return, hand phasing right through Izuku’s when he goes to return the handshake. Shirakumo doesn’t seem surprised by it, but Izuku whips his hand back when the intense chill climbs up his arm.
or,
Izuku tries to pretend eveything is okay even though his homelife is crumbling around him, there's an insanely powerful Quirk that's not entirely his coursing through his veins, he suddenly knows his childhood hero, All Might, and to top it all off, he seems to have befriend a pastel blue-haired ghost that has way too much insider knowledge on Izuku's new homeroom teacher, and English teacher. He's really just trying to survive Yuuei...
Fandom: Haikyuu!! Title: royal regalia Author: celestialshellfish Pairing: Kageyama Tobio/Oikawa Tooru Rating: Explicit Word Count: 2,939 Summary: Oikawa cannot believe this shit.
Okay, okay. Actually, he can. Because Kageyama Tobio is the exact type of clueless jock to show up to a wedding in an Adidas tracksuit.
Fandom: Haikyuu!! Title: Atsumu’s Courtship for Dummies Author: spideywhiteys Pairing: Hinata Shouyou/Miya Atsumu Rating: General Audiences Word Count: 1,604 Summary: Secret Prince Atsumu has been running from responsibility for a while now. Since leaving Inarizaki, he’s grown as a person—as a Prince. But before he can admit to himself that he’s ready to return, he needs to admit his feelings to someone who matters a little more.
Fandom: Merlin Title: Long Enough (Forget Me Not) Author: Jabber_Moose Pairing: Merlin/Arthur Pendragon Rating: General Audiences Word Count: 1,595 Summary: Maybe the fates are telling him that it’s time to let go, that Arthur is not going to return to him. Maybe it is time to stop, for his own sake, before he has to deal with the fallout of forgetting.

During the war arc Dabi killed all of the todoroki family except him and shouto, he was after shouto when he got caught and put into tartarus, along with the cannon deaths of some hero’s and how little the people don’t trust the hero’s after the war arc, nezu came up with the idea similar to the school festival so that for one; civilians would gain more trust in them and see that they are kids too, for two it would help boost morale, each character of 1-a is given a role and the script of Hamilton in it is changed to fit their world. But the play may have drama but what happens behind the curtains is truly what’s important.
(Has fluff, and angst and I may add smut not for sure because I’ve never wrote smut before)

Lost Melody
Lost Melody by Vi0letGreen
Izuku Midoriya was a strange child. He completely does not remember his early childhood, which is why his peers considered him a freak. Even though the doctors said he'd get his memory back, it's been 12 years and nothing. But it didn't bother him.
Until he overheard his mother's weird conversation with some suspicious guy. Does his own mother hate him? Is that true, or is she just saying it because the man wants it? What secrets does Inko have? What did she do in the past?

A little plotbunny I thought of,,, (established) Aideku with Oborro as Aizawas first love/crush, whom Izuku isnt sure Aizawa is really over, despite the relationship that they have now. Izuku knows this and is fine with that, honestly he was, its not as if Oboro was here nOw. Except, he is, somehow Kurogiri is turned back into Oboro, now Nemuri, Hizashi, Tensei and Aizawa are making up for lost time. Izuku has been understanding of all of it, but deep inside, he feels like he's been thrown aside
Oh the way this actually ate my brain.
Tumblr media
~Read More Below~
Izuku loves Shouta.
Really he does.
There'd been a time in his life, the majority of his life really if he's being honest, where Izuku hadn't thought that romantic love would ever be something he could have.
First it had been because he was young and quirkless and the future, no matter how desperately he dreamed about being a hero, would always be something that happened to other people.
Izuku had been smart enough even then, had known the statistics and himself well enough, to know the truth.
Love outside of Inko's pity soaked devotion would always be something just out of Izuku's reach.
Because he was quirkless first and foremost and that fact would never change. Even if his looks changed, even if he grew out of or curbed his muttering and all of the other habits everyone always called creepy, his quirklessness would always be there.
A barrier between him and the rest of the world.
But then it did.
Izuku met All Might and threw himself headfirst into training, headfirst into gaining and then mastering this quirk filled to the brim with legacy and power. Had thrown his all into his apprenticeship with All Might and all of the joy and horror that had come along with it.
A year into his training and only a few months with One for All under his belt and Izuku had, once again, been confronted with the fact that the future would, more than likely, be something that happened to everyone else but him.
Trapped beneath the weight of the legacy All Might had handed to him and cornered by the tragedy in the making that was Shigaraki, Izuku had seen no way out but through.
And even then he'd been sure that, in the end, the only victory he'd see would be of the bloody Pyrrhic kind.
That hadn't stopped him though. Of course it hadn't. He'd been determined and more than a bit desperate. And no matter how many times he stumbled, no matter how many times his quirk tried to rip him apart from the inside out, Izuku had never stayed down for long.
He'd fought and bled and earned his place at All Might's side and, as unwanted as it might have been, across the stage from Shigaraki.
Izuku had been pressed at every turn until he'd found himself somehow occupying the role of Tomura's, Tenko's, beloved/despised Player Two.
And in the end, Izuku had been the one who actually survived, a seasoned and blooded pro hero before he was 18.
Blood on his hands and the weight of Tenko's limp body still heavy in his arms, love had seemed like a fever dream to Izuku by then.
But, eventually, years had passed and things had evened out a bit. Izuku had forced himself into therapy and had pulled the pieces of himself that had been scattered back together again. He'd kept rising in the ranks and he'd kept saving people.
After a few years people had even stopped asking him about the war every single time he was on patrol and the nightmares had finally calmed down a bit.
Eventually, Izuku had been able to look at his life and realize it was good.
He'd even made a friend or two outside of the circle of people he'd been isolated into for years now.
And then he'd met Shouta.
A collaborative case between multiple agencies that had, to Izuku's shock, ended up going magnificently right.
Celebratory drinks with Present Mic, Midnight, and Eraserhead had turned into a celebratory breakfast and it hadn't been long before Izuku had found himself drawn into Shouta's group, tugged along to bars or movie nights or lunches.
He'd even found himself talked into getting a teaching degree, signing up for Nedzu's specialized course in his free time.
Somewhere along the way and despite never believing it could actually happen to him, Izuku had fallen in love.
But what was even more surprising was the fact that Shouta had as well.
Their romance had been a slow thing, a steady smolder instead of a raging burn. Late dinners and quiet evenings spent together while Shouta graded papers and Izuku handled case files. Phone calls after patrols. Stolen moments here and there.
But almost three years later finds Izuku where he is now, sitting on the edge of the bed that he's been sharing with Shouta for almost a year now, in the apartment he's slowly grown to think of as home, heart absolutely breaking over the fact that, once again, he's been left behind.
Because Shirakumo Oboro is alive and well and he's all that Shouta, and everyone else in the friend group that had quickly become Izuku's own, can see.
And Izuku,,,
He gets it.
Really he does.
Ironically enough, Kurogiri had always been a sore point between Izuku and Tenko. Even more so after the last battle Kurogiri had appeared in, the one where he'd eventually fled screaming from the field and none of them had ever seen him again.
And when Izuku and Shouta had gotten together Shirakumo Oboro had been a subject that Shouta had eventually felt a combination of comfortable enough and obligated to bring up.
For all that romantic love had never seemed to be in the cards for him, Izuku knew all about feelings that ended in tragedy, ended in heartbreak and pain.
Even after all these years and so much therapy, Izuku couldn't be in the same room as Bakugou without there being a certain level of tension between them.
So Izuku had understood when Shouta had talked to him about the boy he'd been sure he'd been a few steps away from being in love with when he was in high school. He'd understood how the tragic way it had all ended had kept Shouta from getting a certain kind of closure.
Finding out that Kurogiri and Shirakumo Oboro were, are, one and the same had been more than a bit surprising.
Having him show up, years after Izuku's final showdown with Tenko, scarred and damaged, older but looking more like the boy he'd once been, was even more shocking.
So yeah, Izuku gets it, he understands.
It's a fairy tale kind of story, a rare second chance with someone once thought dead and buried and always, always, mourned.
So Izuku had understood the missed dates, the canceled plans, the conversations that always circle back around to memories that don't include him. He'd kept his distance to keep things from being too awkward given his role in everything that had happened.
He'd accepted the cold side of the bed and the way he'd felt the urge to go back to his apartment for the first time in almost a year. The same apartment Izuku had just been rejoicing about finally being able to get out of his lease since he and Shouta basically lived together anyways so, in Shouta's words, keeping two places wasn't logical.
Izuku had overlooked all of that, had been willing to give it time.
Because Izuku loves Shouta and Shouta has said more than once that he loves Izuku as well.
So Izuku,,,
He'd thought,,,
Well.
It doesn't matter.
Not really.
Because, for the first time in years, Izuku is achingly lonely again.
And that's the one thing he'd thought he'd finally left behind.
But, apparently not.
What's more is the fact that he's not even all that bitter about it either. Izuku had grown used to being a placeholder years ago. It's a role he's played in a number of ways throughout his life.
He'd been the quirkless creep, the fragile son, the useless Deku. He'd been the striving successor, the idiot student, and the unworthy vessel depending on who you asked.
He'd been Player Two in a game he didn't want to play.
He'd thought he was Shouta's too but ,,,
It's fine though.
In the end, this is just one more trial to face.
Izuku will simply see it through.

Do you have any Aizawa’s secret love child Izuku aus? Or any other kind of secret love child Izuku aus?
I don't have one yet and because I love Dadzawa and this request reminds me of one of my favorite fic's Gallows humor we're going with Aizawa!!!
- so I'm not sure how exactly Aizawa and Inko would've met, but I will be messing with some characters ages a little bit for this all to make sense.
- so either Inko went to school with Aizawa, Hizashi, Nemuri and Oboro but was in a different course then the two reunited sometime after or they met later on.
- anyway Inko and Aizawa had a brief relationship before they ended up breaking up because Inko couldn't handle the stress of heroics. But little did she know she was carrying Izuku at the time. She didn't contact her ex wishing to not add anymore stress for him and believing she could raise her son on her own.
- everything goes fine for the first three to four years. Her and Izuku are happy and have had the support of her best friend Mitsuki Bakugou. But then the law firm she works at is attacked by a villain which leads to Inko to being one of the few casualties.
- Izuku moves in with the Bakugou's but everything is not as great as it could be. Izuku has lost his mother, has not developed his quirk yet and has lost most of his friends.
- Katsuki and Izuku hasn't been getting along either, Katsuki has been getting aggressive against Izuku until something breaks between them.
- while the two were out there was an accident leading into Izuku getting injured and Izuku's quirk manifested.
- Izuku's quirk is called Negation, it allows him to create a radius in which no quirk can be activated or used as long as he doesn't blink. The radius at first fluctuate depending on how strong his emotions are when creating the negation zone.(this is really close to a quirk I gave to an oc that I repurposed for this au)
- because of the accident Izuku has a scar under his right eye.
- Mitsuki can't justify keeping Izuku with them if it'll only hurt him so with heavy heart puts him into foster care.
- years pass and Izuku becomes a bit more cynical by his past and the foster care system deeming his quirk villainous, but he still clings to his dream and has made a friend (if not gained a brother) in Shinso Hitoshi.
- the two of them make it into UA's gen Ed but they'll make their way into heroics if it kills them!!!

Do you think Mic will ever really have a time to shine, it seems every time he tries it is cut short.
He'll get a cool scene or two, but a) he's a side character and b) he's not Bakagou popular, so I doubt it. It's a shame, but I can understand it from a writing standpoint. His quirk is so powerful that if utilized right it could be a story breaker and his temperament shows that Mic not only would but could end things quickly. However, we don't want that from a story POV. We want Izuku, our protagonist, to save the day along with the other characters we got to know. (Or were supposed to.) But that's what fanfiction is for.
Notes: *Rambling and varying levels of pettiness against the LoV before. Nothing hateful, or at least not intended as such, but petty.
For me personally--again, personally and very petty, you were warned--I like to imagine a UA (Universe Alteration) where Mic managed to kill Shiggy when he captured the doctor. Not only does it cut off a massive part of what I consider the most tedious part of the manga series. the series that I don't personally care for and gets rid of a villain I find annoying, but it's funny in an ironic way. AFO made all these grand plans with the focus on all these great heroes like All Might, Endeavor, Izuku, and so on--and it's a "nobody" he never thought or even knew existed that fucks everything up for him. With Shiggy dead, he not only loses a tool to mess with All Might but his new body and his original quirk in the process. So unless he can steal quirks from dead bodies (can he?) AFO is screwed for the most part. He has a copy of his quirk, but it's safe to assume that it can't do everything his original can, such as transfer his consciousness. (Are there limits with the copy quirk? Or is it exactly the same?) Especially if he can't get to the doctor.
For Mic, his entire life would get turned upside down. Endeavor may get most of the credit for the raid, but AFO would be targeting MIC. Mic would become the focus of the #1 villain (and anyone of LoV who escaped) all because he wanted to save his friend. And I think it would be interesting to see how he would react to all this.
See, Mic isn't a pure-hearted hero like Izuku or a tsundere hero like Aizawa who will. We know what those two would do in this situation. But Mic? He's a wildcard. True, Mic is a good person with a good heart but he's also willing to do what he has to protect others. Even kill. And there's more personal drama as AFO would use Kurogiri against Mic who probably wouldn't be happy with Hizashi as he killed someone he had been forced to protect for years. So what would happen? What would Mic do? Would he go on the run? Would he take the villains head-on? How far will he go to protect himself and others? Plus, he could have his own little arc as Mic would clearly be over his head in all of this. Not to mention a little Aizawa angst as he'll have to choose whether or not to save Oboro, a friend who meant the world to him, or Hizashi, the one who was always there for him.
But I'm rambling and I can see why that didn't happen. But it is funny how with one little "what if" Hizashi could have hijacked the entire story as a protagonist.
